The railway line from Tema to Akosombo is a vital multi-modal freight corridor, developed in partnership between the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) and AFCONS Infrastructure Limited of India, with AFCONS as the financier.
As part of the railway construction, it became necessary to build level crossing gate houses to accommodate control units responsible for operating level barriers. These barrier gates are crucial for stopping vehicular traffic when a train is approaching, ensuring safety at railway intersections.
J. Oboboam Construction Limited (J.O.C.L) was subcontracted by AFCONS Infrastructure Limited to construct two level crossing gate houses at designated railway intersections along the corridor.
Project Location:
Various railway intersections along the Tema-Akosombo railway corridor
Scope of Work:
J.O.C.L was responsible for the following key construction activities:
Project Highlights:
✔ Successfully constructed two level crossing houses at key railway intersections.
✔ Ensured strict compliance with safety and railway operational standards.
✔ Facilitated smooth integration of control units for efficient level barrier operations.
✔ Delivered durable, well-structured units within the project timeline.
