CONSTRUCTION OF POLICE APARTMENTS

The railway line from Tema to Akosombo is a key multi-modal freight corridor, developed through a partnership between the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA) and AFCONS Infrastructure Limited of India, with AFCONS as the financier.

As part of the railway construction, it became necessary to demolish certain police apartments near the rail lines at Afienya. To compensate for this, new police apartments were to be constructed at designated locations.

J. Oboboam Construction Limited (J.O.C.L) was subcontracted by AFCONS Infrastructure Limited to undertake the construction of several police apartment units at Afienya, providing modern, structurally sound housing for police personnel.

Scope of Work:

J.O.C.L was responsible for the following key construction activities:

• Site Preparation & Foundation Works – Clearing, excavation, and foundation laying.
• Structural Construction – Concrete works, blockwork, and roofing.
• Mechanical & Electrical Installations – Plumbing, electrical wiring, and fixture installations.
• Finishing Works – Plastering, flooring, painting, and fittings.
• Landscaping & External Works – Paving, drainage, and site beautification.

Project Highlights:
